What’s a furlong and why run 7 of them?
One furlong equals 1/8 of a mile. The horse track is one mile (8 furlongs) and that just seems like one furlong too many. Besides, 7 is a lucky number!
Will we be running against horses?
No horses, just fellow humans. We do plan to have a miniature donkey named “Johnny” to help pace us around the track.
What does registration cost?
It’s just $39.95 (plus fees) if you register before March 31, 2019. It will cost $49.95 (plus fees) starting on April 1st…that’s no joke!
What do I get when I register?
Each trotter receives admission to Texas Trot 2019, including:
- 7-furlong Fun Run…right on the horse track
- Goodie Bag (Awesome Tee/Sticker, Fantastic Sponsor Promo Items)
- “Participation” Medal to wear to work on Monday!
- After-Picnic at the Courtyard of Champions (Live Music, Food & Beverages, Outdoor Games, Fancy Hat & Costume Contests)
- On-track Starting Gate…great for photos!
- Tons of free parking
Where do I sign up?
Register on eventbrite. You’ll need to enter your personal info, shirt size (S,M,L,XL or XXL) and valid credit card information.
What should I wear?
We strongly encourage costumes and/or “fancy hats”. Have fun! Dress up and be somebody! We’ll award a few prizes for best costumes and best fancy hat at the after-picnic.
After-picnic? Now you have my attention, tell me more!
Live music, adult bevvies, food trucks, outdoor games (think corn hole, horseshoes, ladder ball, etc.), costume contest, fancy hat contest and more!
Can I bring my dog on a leash?
If your dog stays on a leash the whole time, YES, you can bring him or her! Feel free to get them in costume, too! Just be sure to pick up after your bud and keep them on a leash.
Is it a family-friendly event?
It is. Just know that if you bring a stroller to push, the run is on the dirt track. Also, the after-picnic will have alcoholic beverages being served.
Why would I do this?
Just for fun. Fun is good!
NOTE: Texas Trot is a rain or shine event - NO REFUNDS.
Please keep in mind, once a transaction is processed, all registration fees are non-refundable.
